Can you please shut up?

Okay, I cannot be alone on this. I was at Shutter Island on Friday and remembered why it is that I do not go to shows on opening night.

We're sitting in the theater and this couple sits behind us. They were talking up through the beginning of the movie until my husband asked them to be quiet. The guy was quiet, but his girlfriend would NOT shut up. Seriously, she was sitting there the whole time going, "What should I text to her? What should I text? Oh, what happened there? Is he going to die? What happened?" She would not stop.

I don't think it would be too much to ask to have an usher stand in each movie like people do at things like plays and ballet and that. I swear, those people get off on kicking people out if they don't stop talking. I had a guy kick out someone once because it was beyond terrible and he was just loving it. It would be very helpful and it would create jobs. Win, win. Plus, I can't be alone in feeling that they don't want to go to opening night because of people that won't be quiet. This is what is causing me to actually purchase an entire suite at the theater that allows this to see Eclipse on opening day. I always go to the Twilight movies on opening day at like, 10 am because all the fangirls are at school, but in the middle of June, it will be awful if I go in the actual theater.

And this girl was like, 21. I'd like to go to the theater where the adults go now. Which is why I tend to go to the Lagoon, which is one of Minneapolis' theaters that show idependent and foreign stuff. Idiots don't tend to go to shows at that place.

Oh, and best part of Shutter Island? Ted Levigne. I so wanted to yell, "It rubs the lotion on it's skin!" That guy got SO screwed out of an Oscar when Silence of the Lambs took over the Oscars.

Unfortunately, we always get these people BEHIND us, so kicking is out of the question, lol.

I know a guy who once started saying everything this girl in front of him was texting during a movie because he was with his daughter and she couldn't enjoy the movie. So he just leaned over the chick's shoulder and said EVERYTHING she texted. So awesome.
