Buffy! Just because I have to choose Buffy. :)
Lady Manson: Buffy - happy slayerladymanson on February 22nd, 2010 03:23 pm (UTC)
I KNEW you'd choose Buffy! :)

1. The character I first fell in love with: Willow
2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Tara
3. The character everyone else loves that I don't: Andrew
4. The character I love that everyone else hates: Dawn
5. The character I used to love but don't any longer: I still love all the ones I always loved.
6. The character I would shag anytime: Spike, pre-soul
7. The character I'd want to be like: Faith, because she's strong in all the ways I'm not
8. The character I'd slap: Kennedy - sorry, I never liked her
9. A pairing that I love: Tara and Willow
10. A pairing that I despise: Riley and Buffy, although I liked Riley as a character. I just like seeing Buffy with vampires.
11. Favorite character: Willow
12. My five favorite characters: Willow, Tara, Buffy, Drusilla, Spike
13. My five least favorite characters: Andrew, Kennedy, that evil kid from season two that Spike had enough of, post-soul Spike cuz I feel it RUINED that character, Adam from season four cuz I felt it was the lamest big bad ever
14. Which character I am most like: Tara
15. My deep, dark fandom secret: The show ended for me when Tara died and Spike got his soul. I couldn't stand season seven. I felt the show was destroyed for me with that season. Had there been an eighth season on TV, my faith may have been restored.

Lady Manson: Buffy - buffy ewladymanson on February 23rd, 2010 01:11 pm (UTC)
Aren't our takes on SPN greatly opposing as well? I think I remember that. Still, we get along FABULOUSLY... :)

Twilight. Just curious. ;)
Lady Manson: Twilight - bella manipladymanson on February 22nd, 2010 04:19 pm (UTC)
1. The character I first fell in love with: Bella
2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now: Rosalie
3. The character everyone else loves that I don't: I don't know, I don't really dislike too many characters.
4. The character I love that everyone else hates: Renesmee
5. The character I used to love but don't any longer: I still really like them all.
6. The character I would shag anytime: Jasper or Alice
7. The character I'd want to be like: Alice - she's so great
8. The character I'd slap: Edward in Eclipse. His overprotectiveness gave me the feeling of an almost abusive partner. That later changed in Breaking Dawn.
9. A pairing that I love: Japser/Alice
10. A pairing that I despise: I actually really like them all
11. Favorite character: Bella
12. My five favorite characters: Bella, Alice, Charlie, Renesmee, and the Cullen cars. They're a character, dammit! You can't convince me otherwise.
13. My five least favorite characters: The wolves that wanted to kill pregnant Bella. I can't think of any others at the moment
14. Which character I am most like: Bella, but much less dependent on my husband. The rest of her, especially her character in the beginning of Twilight is so like me.
15. My deep, dark fandom secret: I really like Renesmee and don't like how part of the fandom tends to say that the story was ruined because of her. I heard someone say that the story made it seem like your child is your OTP and it was ridiculous. Well, no, it's not. If you're a parent, your kid is your OTP because you love your kid like no other. I don't have a child of my own, apart from my stepson which is not the same in that respect. I don't want children, but I understand that people who have them love them more than anything in existance. After seeing someone I care about bury her son, I know that more than ever before. Your child is your life, regardless. Somehow, I feel that part of the fandom wanted Bella to remain as is and never move past loving anything besides Edward, which is kind of sad.

Oh yes, I know what you mean. ^^*
It made me cringe and I almost couldn't read anymore because that really sucked.

Oh, and I liked Renesmee, too. I think she has her own story to tell and I could imagine reading and enjoying a sequel about her and Jacob. (A few years later, of course ... ;P)
Lady Manson: twilight - forbidden fruitladymanson on February 22nd, 2010 05:35 pm (UTC)
Oh, same here! I'd love to read one that tells about all the drama points in their relationship, like the fact that Jacob isn't immortal and what would happen when the Cullens would have to move away to keep up with appearances.

I can totally understand why you would feel that. There's definitely a strong resentment in the fandom for that reason I think. Though, I do believe if Meyer had written more scenes of Edward bonding with Renesmee, the fandom could've felt differently.
I did not like Renesmee because I do not like the insinuation that couples must have a child to be a "complete" family. As though couples can't be happy unless they have one. I think so many people have kids just because that's what they're expected to do after they get married.
In the case of Breaking Dawn, I think Meyer compromised her story to get her own happy ending. And she's the author so she's perfectly entitled but I think the story could've ended stronger without it.

I love that you mentioned this because it's what I have been dealing with my entire life because I never want children. I've been told that I don't know what it's like to be a woman until I have a child. Crap like that. People even told me that after I found out that I am actually incapable of having children. So I get your point on that. There were certainly parts of Breakin Dawn where I felt that was leaking through and I kind of despised those scenes. Still, I did love Renesmee. I may have felt differently if she hadn't kept Jacob linked to Bella because I was really happy that he had a happy ending as well as the rest of them.

I love your last comment. I have to give you the same advice - I love everything on vamps and werewolves like you, but one movie I would tell anyone to pass on? Daybreakers. Man, that was a tough watch. And I totally agree with you on Dracula 3000. :)
