General - Death - Elegy: A Mix to Die To
Medium: General
Subject: Death
Title: Elegy: A Mix to Die To
Warnings: Depressive subject matter
Notes: Music regarding death including songs by Radiohead, Type O Negative, Metallica, Pink Floyd, and more. For some reason, I really enjoy depressive music when I'm sad. It makes me feel better, which I know is strange to some.

Track Listing
1. Gloomy Sunday - Lydia Lunch
This song is actually known as the Hungarian Suicide Song and is attached to many urban legends saying it inspired numerous suicides.  This is my favorite version of it, as there have been TONS of versions.

2. Die With Me - Type O Negative
I find this a beautiful song, although it's very sad. The whole tone of it, the lyrics, everything. It's lovely.

3. Suicide Note Part One - Pantera
I remember that I listened to this all the time years ago and just recalled it for this mix.

4. Creep - Radiohead
There is a story behind this one. Back when I was fifteen and incredibly suicidal, I used to listen to this song and sob. But it made me feel better. However, whenever I hear it, I just think of ways a person can die, no matter how much I love the song.

5. Suicide Solution - Ozzy Osbourne
Obvious reasons on this one. I'm not one of those morons that buys into the suicide being CAUSED by this song either, so don't look at it that way.

6. Suicide is Painless - Marilyn Manson
This is just soothing when you're depressed, in my opinion.

7. A Tout Le Monde (To Everyone) - Megadeth
The only reason this is on here is because I met Dave Mustaine about a month back and have been giving Megadeth more of a chance than I ever have in my life. I loved the lyrics of this song.

8. A Warm Place - Nine Inch Nails
A beautiful instrumental piece. It was necessary and I really love this one.

9. Fade to Black - Metallica
This is yet another song I listen to when I am incredibly depressed that lifts me up.

10. The Noose - A Perfect Circle
I'm not entirely sure why I mixed this one in, but I felt it really fit well.

11. Goodbye Cruel World - Pink Floyd
I heard this on vacation when seeing The Wall concert and thought it would be PERFECT for the ending of this mix.

I feel: mellowmellow
I'm listening to: Mad Men

A Tout Le Monde! :happydance: Such an amazing underrated song!!! I'm a huge Megadeth fan. When I rate favorite older bands, they're top 5 for me. They've always been so great to meet. Not stuck up and always glad to meet fans. Did you go to Dave's book signing? I drove up to Cleveland for one last month. :D

Love your cover art! ♥

Glad you like it. And yes, I met him during the book signing. He was only a couple towns away, so it wasn't too far. :)

Awesome cover art! It's gorgeous! And you're definitely not the only one re depressing music. When I go through something I switch out all my songs on my shuffle that I carry around to fit my mood.

Oh good, someone else who likes the depressing stuff. :) Thanks for the art comment too, it was considerably different from what I usually do.

Oh yeah. Listening depressing songs when you're sad if the best thing ever and this fanmix is perfect. The last one is just... wow. Each times i'm listening to this, i feel like i'm dying, but it's so good at the same time...
Great job :)

Love this. Suicide Note PT 1 FTW, saw them play it live back in '96..sigh.

Oh, LUCKY!!!! I would have loved to have seen Pantera live. Now the closest I get is when they play Walk over the loud speaker at shows and everyone stops and sings it. :)

I think something's wrong with the Zip file link? I'm downloading the individual songs! Thank you

I have such a weakness for death fanmixes - they're always so melodic and introspective. I've never heard this version of Gloomy Sunday, either, which is sort of a rarity - I thought I'd heard them all!

This looks wonderful. Thanks so much for it. <3

Glad you like it. Yeah, there's SO many versions of Gloomy Sunday. I absolutely love this one.
