Help with Sony Vegas 7.0
Hi everyone,

I need some vidding help.  I am currently making a SPN video and I am finally learning the effects and flashy things on Sony Vegas to make the video look nice and pretty and not annoying.  I'm just loving this one and hope to get it done soon.  I was wondering if anyone has a tutorial on how to do blur transitions and by tutorial, I mean one of the most dumbed down things you could imagine (with pictures and such).  I keep trying to use the blur transitions, but they're too quick.  I've seen people do really nice blurs that last about a beat and I just can't manage to get mine to look like a decent transition.  It just looks like a flashy little effect with the timing of a flash or dissolve.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks so much!

Tracy, have you tried moving the second clip further into the first clip so that the blur lasts longer? So instead of a :07 transition, it's, I dunno, 1:00 or :25 or something like that...

I'm not really sure want you're really looking for. Can you list an example? ;/

I've gotten into wanting to do the blurs after seeing this vid of Kayla's. They just rock.

OH! That's LINEAR BLUR. And I'm pretty sure it's an EFFECT, not a TRANSITION.

Therefore, you need to use the keyframes for both clips. Select the effect and you see that line. Toward the end of the first clip, you need to work up to the blur and in the beginning of the the second clip, you need to work down from it.

Clip 2:

Without blending the two clips together, it should up looking something like this:

Hopefully, that helps you. And if it doesn't, this information is everything I read from Kayla's little tutorial in the Sony Vegas Help section at SVS. So you can look there to the master for further assistance!

OH, man, I'm so sorry about the big graphics! I thought they were going to show up as thumbnails for some reason! Gah! Sorry again!

Deleted to add: Of course, you don't have to use those numerical values and you don't have to space the keyframes like that. I just did both arbitrarily and it turned out okay so I kept it, you know. ;)

Again, hope this helps!
