...yeah...it's mono...
I went to the doctor yesterday and they did tests.  I have mono.  I've had it before it my life and it is really no fun.  Mostly because you get SO tired.  But apparently the worst part with the fever and all is over.  The virus has attacked my throat though, which is why it hurts so bad now.  The doctor told me that my throat was the worst he had seen in years, which I was like, "Great...".  He gave me these awesome painkillers though that don't tire me out much more and kill the pain in a huge way.  It's lovely.  I had to go home and sleep for five hours yesterday, but I am stronger today.  I think it's cuz I can eat and swallow now.  It doesn't hurt to swallow anymore, which is SO nice.

I keep drinking ginger ale and Diet Coke to kill the pain that the painkiller doesn't get, but I hate it because I rarely drink that stuff.  It gets to my teeth and skin to no extent.  But, hey.  So the doctor said I may be worn down for about another week or two, but my fever is gone and the pain is diminishing.  That's good.  I just lay down at home when I finish my school work.  I have been watching a ton of Hitchcock lately.  Last night I watched Psycho again, which I love, but on Saturday I saw North by Northwest for the first time ever, but fell asleep after the plane in the field scene.  So I have to finish it...

Re: hahaahahhaa
You would too if you had EVERY symptom of the swine flu! The media needs to stop feeding our heads with it - you should have seen the people at work. They didn't even know all my symptoms and thought I had the swine flu before it was determined to be mono. I was like, "Guys, settle down. It could just be a really bad regular flu, for all we know." :)

Re: hehehhe
I had the fever right at 39 C, but I didn't go to work when I had that. When I have fevers, I get so sick that I can't hardly get out of bed. And you are so right - the media is making people crazy over the swine flu. There are still plenty of other things that can make people really sick other than that. :-)

Re: :O:O
I'm great now. The medication that my doctor gave me to help my pain and weakness really helped a lot. I don't know a translation for mono, but I would describe it as having flu symptoms, but it makes you INCREDIBLY weak. It can last a long time just due to the weakness. I had it once in high school and was out for three weeks because I couldn't stay awake. I has to do with a lack of white blood cells in your system. I talked to my doctor about the blood and he said it was probably due to the pain in my throat. I have a tendency to believe that because once my throat healed, the bleeding stopped. I'm so glad it didn't last too long. This is the third time I have had it in my life and it was the slightest case. When I was in high school, they tried to take blood and the lack of cells made it almost impossible for them to take it. I still have marks from that.

Jesus
Poor of you lady! three times in your life?!!! that´s so much you don´t eat healty or what? because if it is lack of white blood cells. that´s it because you dont´eat healthy or because you have sleep problems or well you are rushing , stressing every time. :O

Thank God you are very good right now! and well maybe that weakness is a sign from the body to tell you that need to rest. no? maybe?

Well have a nice night :D

Re: Jesus
It has to do with my weak immune system from my cerebral palsy - I get sick easily. It's such a pain. I'm getting better over the years. but it's still annoying.

Well
If once in the future you will be fine. that´s a good thing to think. but at least you have money to counteract that thing and that´s another thing to think, that you don´t have to worry about money when you get sick :D

Luckily this isn't as bad as the last time I had it. I'm much stronger now. The last time I had it, I had it for about a month and I literally had black bags under my eyes because I was SO tired. It freaked my husband out.
